Kershaw had been a reporter for the New York Times from 2000 to 2011. She had also reported for the Newsday publication and, at the time of her death, was a freelance writer. Kershaw’s body was found at her apartment in Sosua, where she had moved with her husband in 2014.Sarah Kershaw first came to prominence when she wrote (1) an article for the New York Times in 2008, titled: ‘Sharing Their Demons on the Web’. The article is centered on mind-control techniques and the devastating impact they can have. In the article, Kershaw made some bold statements about the act of mind-control and those involved in it, writing:
